Not every shower has to be a grid of tile. In this bathroom, the shower walls have a textured plaster finish with visible trowel marks and soft shifts in gray, which gives the room a quieter, stone-like look.

The fixtures are matte black: a square rain head mounted on the ceiling, a square valve trim with a lever handle, and a stick-style handheld on a wall bracket. A recessed niche with a white frame and a middle shelf makes two cubbies, and the back of the niche is dark herringbone tile for contrast against the lighter wall. A frameless glass panel with a curved top closes in the shower.

The rest of the bathroom

The shower is one part of a full bathroom. A dark charcoal herringbone tile floor runs through the room and continues into the shower, and a single black curb spans the width of the room, with the shower and a white clawfoot tub both behind it.

The tub has a floor-mount filler and sits under a frosted window, against an accent wall tiled in the same herringbone. Beside it, a black heated towel rack hangs on a dark teal wall. Across the room, a walnut double vanity with slatted doors has a white integrated double sink, matte black faucets, and small round knobs, with two arched black mirrors and two amber glass pendants above it.

The last photo was taken before trim-out: the valve was not trimmed yet, the rain head arm was not installed, and the wall on the right was still waiting on paint. It shows the tile, curb, and glass already in place ahead of the finishing work.
